My name is Melissa and I am an RN-IBCLC in Toronto, ON. I have been a post-partum nurse since 2014, then became a lactation consultant in 2017 to better support my patients on their breastfeeding journeys. I have seen the difference early breastfeeding support makes, both prenatally and in the early postpartum period when possible. This includes troubleshooting pumping issues in the beginning when breastfeeding is not going well. I have helped breastfeeding families prenatally, immediately after birth, on the postpartum unit, NICU, and pediatrics, as well as outpatient support for families with older babies and teaching for various breast/nipple concerns. I strive to help families reach their personal feeding goals with no judgment, and increase parents' confidence in caring for their babies.
